We the Parasites

Standard

Humans have acquired the parasitic nature very long ago. I always come to remember my time during higher secondary education, most of the lecturers had a very speed lectures that most of the students used to miss to make the notes. I also used to miss some important points and I had a friend who used to capture everything the teacher spoke. So, I frequently had to copy some of the notes from him. I more I started to fill up the contents I missed, the more I started to miss to write the note. And by the end of the year, I had fully been depended on him to make the notes and had to copy the whole notes from him. I had become a parasite. Its not the story of single me.

According to Shlomiya Bar-Yam of New England Complex Systems Institute “A parasitic relationship is one in which one organism, the parasite, lives off of another organism, the host, harming it and possibly causing death. The parasite lives on or in the body of the host. Usually, although parasites harm their hosts, it is in the parasite’s best interest not to kill the host, because it relies on the host’s body and body functions, such as digestion or blood circulation, to live.” ( @ link ).

From my prospect, we Nepali are a colony of parasites, the parasite depended on the government. Some of we are parasitic by nature, most are parasitic by circumstance, but the worst ones are the parasite by choice. We expect the river to bring the gold to us, so that we could make our fortune ( The River and The Gold). We expect the government to think for us, be responsible for us, provide us education, provide us health, provide us employment, provide us food, provide us clothing, provide us shelter, provide us refreshment and everything we need to live the life we dream. We have become the parasites. This is one of the reason we are still poor. And the most worse part is we do not mind being parasite on Government. We do not see the option what we could do on our own.

But its time now, we realize that we are living poor, because we expect the government to make our fortune, which does not work any more in this competitive world. Every goods and services needs to be produced and this requires the cost, which we should be able to pay for. We must understand that if we want to be something then, we have to do something. And if we want some more, then we have to do some more. Its time now, that we own ourselves and be responsible for the good and bad for ourselves.  Yes, Nepal ! Its time for Liberty now.
